Jinja is a town located on the shores of Lake Victoria with crumbling colonial architecture. Famous as the historic source of the Nile River, Jinja is now the adrenaline capital of East Africa. You can go for white-water rafting, kayaking, quad biking, mountain biking and horse riding. You can also enjoy your afternoon walk around craft and coffee shops or enjoy the local atmosphere on market streets.

The drive takes 2-3 hours in average. You will have to leave Kampala early morning at around 7am for full day rafting. After reaching Jinja breakfast will be served and then you will head to the starting point of the white water rafting. Lunch will also be provided during the lunch break.
After rafting you will head to your place of accommodation.
On the second day of the trip you will do a boat tour on river Nile and lake Victoria to see where the two water bodies separate from and the source of the Nile river. The Nile river being 6,853 kilometers long, is considered to be the longest river in the world and Jinja being the source.
After enjoying the boat tour and lunch you will be driven back to Kampala.

There are several options while visiting Jinja. In case you do not want to travel far, you can enjoy Jinja Town for little longer. There are plenty of coffee and craft shops or swimming pools or you can continue with adventure and join bungee jumping, mountain biking or horse riding. On the way back to Kampala you can stop in Mabira forest Reserve, visit Ssezibwa falls or Bujagali falls. There are also coffee and tea plantations on the way that can be visited.
Or you can decide to continue to the Eastern part of the country to experience Sipi falls, Mt. Elgon National Park or Karamojaland.
